Benchmark indices retained morning gains with the Nifty holding 8400 level ahead of expiry of January derivative contracts tomorrow and Union Budget that will be presented on February 1. In broader market, maximum sectors are trading in the positive zone with high positive leads. BSE SmallCap is rising high with 69 points lead and BSE MidCap has hiked 50 points at 12695.
Sugar stocks are in focus in first half of Tuesday’s trading session. Ponni Sugars gained 7.82%. Uttam Sugar Mills Limited gained 7.1%.
About 1426 shares have advanced over 1007 shares declined and 284 shares are still unchanged.
